Forum 35 hosted Community Impact Breakfast for Baton Rouge leaders
BATON ROUGEForum 35 welcomed Baton Rouge leaders and community members at their Community Impact Breakfast on Tuesday, November 14 at Boudreaux's Catering Hall. The event focused on Forum 35's vision for Baton Rouge and their priorities for 2018 and beyond.
Attendees, including more than 100 representatives from various Baton Rouge institutions, non-profit organizations and businesses, listened to presentations by Forum 35 President Mathew Laborde and Development Director Blake Fowler. Forum 35 welcomed guest speakers including: Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) President and CEO Adam Knapp, Baton Rouge Area Foundation (BRAF) President and CEO John Davies, Home Bank Vice President Brandon Kelly and Erin Monroe Wesley,Special Counsel at the Office of Governor John Bel Edwards.
During his introduction of Davies, Knapp spoke about the relationship Forum 35 has with BRAF, which has helped advance its positive impact on the Baton Rouge community.
In his presentation, Davies focused on the importance of building young leaders to be advocates for progress in their community. He encouraged attendees to invest in Forum 35 in order to help them with their mission to grow future leaders and advocates for Baton Rouge.
Attendees also heard from previous Forum 35 members. Kelly and Monroe Wesley both spoke on their personal experience with being members of Forum 35 and how their involvement informed and advanced their careers.

The presentation also included an award ceremony, which honored the following: the Forum 35 Baton Rouge Original Award, Baton Rouge Young Professional Award and Corporate Partner of the Year.
Forum 35 BR Original Award
Farleigh Cook Jackson of Preserve Louisiana received the Baton Rouge Original Award for her service with area and state-wide non profit organizations.
Forum 35 BR Original Young Professional Award
Melissa Parmelee of National Audubon Society received the Baton Rouge Young Professional Award for her involvement with Forum 35 as well as various other non profit organizations in Baton Rouge.
Forum 35 Corporate Partner of the Year Award
The Water Institute of the Gulf received the Corporate Partner of the Year award for their involvement in Forum 35's service initiatives as well as their contribution to the Baton Rouge community.
