 Donna Saurage Selected as Forum 35’s Baton Rouge Original Award Recipient

BATON ROUGE – Forum 35 has selected Donna Saurage as its 2016 Baton Rouge Original Award winner. The award is given annually to an individual who is dedicated to improving the Baton Rouge community through exemplary leadership, visionary thinking and extraordinary volunteerism.


Saurage is a community activist and philanthropist with over 50 years of work in the nonprofit sector. She has been in a leadership position with multiple nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for citizens in Louisiana since her tenure as President of the Junior League of Baton Rouge in 1979.


She currently serves as a Trustee of Our Lady of the Lake College, the Angelina and Huey Wilson Foundation, the Mary Bird Perkins Foundation, the First Presbyterian Church Foundation; as a Board Member of New Schools for Baton Rouge (NSBR), Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), Public Affairs Research Council (PAR). Dream Teachers; and as an Advisory Board member of the Baton Rouge Youth Coalition (BRYC).


Saurage joins a prominent list of previous Baton Rouge Original Award winners, including:

The Baton Rouge Original Award is a community award with nominations sought annually from inside and outside of Forum 35, and selected by its Board of Directors.


Saurage will formally accept the award at Forum 35’s annual fundraising dinner, Viva il Vino. This year’s event, “An Evening in Wonderland,” is scheduled for Thursday, September 29 at Boudreaux’s on Government.
