Baton Rouge Gallery Selected as Art Melt Louisiana Art Legend Award Recipient

BATON ROUGE – Forum 35 has selected Baton Rouge Gallery as its 2016 Art Melt Louisiana Art Legend Award recipient.  BRG will be announced as the winner at the 2016 Art Melt Preview Party on July 22, and will formally accept the award at Viva il Vino on September 29.

As one of the nation’s longest-standing artist cooperative galleries, Baton Rouge Gallery will receive the
Art Melt Louisiana Art Legend Award in recognition and appreciation for the impact it has made for artists within the state. Past winners include Edward Pramuk (2014) Mignon Faget (2013), C.C. Lockwood (2012), Rhea Gary (2011) and George Rodrigue (2010).


Baton Rouge Gallery was selected because, “If you are familiar with Baton Rouge Gallery history, then you will understand the rarity and furthermore how remarkable it is that it exists and has continuously so for 50 years. It is representative of art from across the state of Louisiana and has made a significant impact on the arts scene in Baton Rouge and around the country. It is truly unique and therefore deserving as it makes this significant milestone.”


The award will be announced at Forum 35’s Art Melt Preview Party on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Capitol Park Museum. Tickets are currently being sold for $85 individual/$150 couple. For more information, or to purchase tickets, please click here.


Jason Andreasen, Executive Director, will accept the award on behalf of Baton Rouge Gallery at Forum 35’s Viva il Vino event on Thursday. September 29, 2016.
