June 2015 Forum Friday Recap

On Friday, June 19th, Jennifer Mayer spoke to Forum 35 members and guests about the history of CASA in Baton Rouge, what they do to help abused and neglected children who need an advocate and to place children in stable permanent homes, and what we can do to help contribute to their continued success.

What is CASA?

Every child deserves to thrive in the safety and love of a family. As children in the foster care system navigate through juvenile justice and social services proceedings, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers speak up for them with the ultimate goal being a safe, permanent home.

Who is Jennifer Mayer?

Jennifer joined the Capital Area CASA Association staff in June 2013. She is a Baton Rouge native and holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from the University of Georgia. Jennifer has five years of experience practicing PR for nonprofit organizations. She oversees all marketing/PR functions in order to achieve a level of public awareness sufficient to maintain adequate volunteers and support.

How can you get involved?

Forum 35 has an annual volunteer project with CASA, organized by our very own Service Committee.  Learn more about the event here:
