Forum 35 Seeks Committee Leaders

Did you know that one of Forum 35's main pillars focuses on our desire to grow and support leaders in our community?  It is for this reason that we have so many leadership opportunities available throughout the year in various Forum 35 committees and subcommittees.


We are currently seeking to fill a few leadership positions within our Service, Art Melt & Reindeer Run committees.  If you are interested in seeking any of these positions, please send us a short introduction summarizing your leadership experience (in and outside of Forum 35).  What do you think makes YOU the best leader for the position you are applying to...Let us know!



Each month, Forum 35's Service Committee Co-Chairs lead the Service Committee to plan 1 - 3 monthly volunteer projects for our membership to participate in.  We are looking for someone enthusiastic and volunteer-oriented to help Leland Moss, our current Co-Chair, lead the many volunteer opportunities planned for 2015-2016.  If assisting in the organizing of these projects and coordinating of volunteers pulls at your heartstrings, let us know...we'd love to have you!

ART MELT COMMITTEE - 2 Positions Needed: Food Vendor & Children's Area Leaders

Forum 35’s Art Melt is the largest multi-media, juried art exhibit in the state of Louisiana. Now in its 12th year, Art Melt strives to promote professional artists throughout the state of Louisiana while providing an opportunity for the public to experience the best of local fine art, music, and performing arts.  Reporting to Art Melt's Festival sub-committee chairs, Jenn Dyer and Sarah Moran, the Food Vendor and Children's Area Leaders are tasked with coordinating specific festival needs prior to and during the event.


Art Melt Food Vendor Coordinator - Soliciting restaurants, caterers and food trucks to participate in the food vendor area at Art Melt, coordinating space availability and placement and providing follow-up as necessary. The coordinator will work with the Festival Subcommittee Co-Chairs on logistics and planning. 

Art Melt Children's Area Coordinator - Working with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge, this coordinator will assist with planning, programming, logistics and follow-up for the Children's Area at Art Melt. The Children's Area lead coordinator will coordinate efforts with the Festival Subcommittee Co-Chairs.

REINDEER RUN COMMITTEE - Food & Beverage Leader Needed

Reindeer Run & Jingle Bell Jog is held in conjunction with the Festival of Lights in downtown Baton Rouge on Friday Night, December 4th. This event is fun for all, includes a 5k and a 1mile race, supporting Forum 35 and partnering with Toys for Tots.


Reindeer Run Food & Beverage Leaders Responsibility Description– Soliciting of food and beverage sponsors is the responsibility of the entire Reindeer Run Committee; but the Food and Beverage leaders will be responsible for maintaining the list of Food & Beverage sponsors (committed and pending) and providing follow-up as necessary. Leaders will coordinate with Volunteer Leader for delivery/drop-off/pick-up for Day of Race; and also with Logistics Leader for the set-up and handling of the food court area within Reindeer Village.
