Willie C. Johnson, President and Majority Partner of WCJ Consultants, LLC, has an extensive history and background in community development, leadership development, and training.  She has over thirty years of experience working with and building coalitions to help solve community problems. Her background in public education as a teacher and high school administrator has equipped her with the tools and knowledge to facilitate educational changes for organizations that will increase their bottom line and enhance the community. Beyond the educational community, she served as the Senior Vice President for the Baton Rouge Area Chamber. Here she worked to help build infrastructure for economic development and growth, to help improve public education, public safety, quality of life venues, and the leadership development and training of community leaders. Simultaneously, she served as the director of the Baton Rouge Area Leadership program, facilitating the training for future community leaders.

She has a broad base knowledge of board development for nonprofits and has served on numerous boards throughout the community, as a board member or serving in a leadership position. Her other experiences include facilitation and strategic planning. In July of 2008, she founded WCJ Consultants, LLC as a way to utilize her many years of experience in the business community, educational community, non- profit community, and utilizing her skills training community leaders.

Ms. Johnson was appointed by previous Louisiana Governors to serve on boards and commissions.  She has received some of the highest honors in Louisiana on community leadership, coalition building, and educational development.  An example of several of the awards and recognitions received include but are not limited to the list below.  

  • 2000 Recipient of the NCCJ Brotherhood/Sisterhood Award

  • 2003 Recipient of the Powell-Reznikoff Humanitarian Award

  • 2003 Recipient of the Public Relations Association of Louisiana Communicator of the Year Award

  • 2004 Recipient of Forum 35 – BR Original Award

  • 2005 Recipient Louisiana Heroine Award/the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations

  • State Appointments: LEARN Commission; Capital Area Human Services District; and the

  • Commission on Best Practices in School Discipline

  • 2006 Elected to the Community College Foundation Board

  • 2007 Omicron Delta Kappa – LSU Chapter – Honorary Member
